About Me

Greetings! I'm Michele Guerini, and I'm delighted to share my journey with you. Born in the picturesque Valle Trompia on November 4, 1995, I've always had a deep-rooted passion for nature and mountains and a profound appreciation for the cultural value of its incredible diversity. My academic path has taken me on a fascinating journey through archaeology, geography, and earth science, culminating in my current pursuit of a PhD.

My Academic Journey:

My academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology in Padova, where I delved into the human history and the intricate connections between people and their environments. This was just the beginning of my quest to understand and protect the natural world.

Building on this foundation, I pursued a Master's degree in Geography and Earth Science. It was during this phase that I honed my understanding of the complex dynamics of our planet, from its geological marvels to its diverse ecosystems. I was drawn to the Mountains, captivated by their majesty and the profound role they play in our world.

My Passion for Nature:

Nature is not just a subject of academic interest for me; it's a personal love affair. I find solace in the mountains, where I'm often hiking, cycling, and exploring. There's something deeply inspiring about the rugged beauty of these landscapes, and I'm committed to preserving them for future generations.

My Research Mission:

With my ongoing research project, I'm on a mission to contribute to the achievement of sustainable ecosystem management in mountainous regions. I firmly believe that the key to success lies in making people aware of the vital importance of these environments. By showcasing the geosites and the remarkable geological formations that shape the landscapes of Alagna Valsesia through a Geotrail, I aim to spread awareness and promote good practices.

Mountains are not just geological wonders; they are living, breathing ecosystems that provide essential services to our world. Through my work, I hope to bridge the gap between scientific research and public awareness, encouraging everyone to become stewards of these remarkable places.

Join me on this journey of discovery, where I share insights, stories, and the beauty of our natural world. Together, we can make a difference in preserving the mountains and fostering a deep appreciation for the invaluable diversity of our planet's ecosystems. Thank you for being a part of this adventure.
