One Month Training to Monterosa2000 s.p.a.
A pivotal chapter in my Ph.D. journey involved a month-long training with Monterosa2000, one of the key partners in my research. This experience provided me with a unique opportunity to work closely with stakeholders in the study area, offering valuable insights into the intricacies of the local tourism industry and the evolving interests of tourists. It was a transformational experience, highlighting the significance of my project in the face of changing seasons and shifting patterns.
Working with Monterosa2000:
During this intensive training period, I had the privilege of collaborating with Monterosa2000, a major player in the local tourism industry. This partnership not only expanded my practical knowledge but also gave me direct exposure to the challenges and opportunities that arise in the context of tourism in the region.
Understanding Tourist Interests:
One of the primary objectives of my training was to gain a deeper understanding of the ever-evolving interests of tourists. This knowledge was essential in crafting sustainable strategies to cater to their needs and desires. By working closely with Monterosa2000, I had the opportunity to engage with tourists, identify their preferences, and adapt the local tourism offer accordingly.
Lack of Snow in Winter:
During my training, one striking observation was the notable lack of snow during the winter season, which has traditionally been a primary attraction in the region. This was a stark reminder of the climate change challenges facing the area and the implications for the tourism industry. It underscored the importance of diversifying the tourism offer, shifting focus from winter activities to the untapped potential of the summer season.
The Relevance of My Project:
My time with Monterosa2000 deepened my conviction about the relevance of my research. It became clear that my work is not just an academic endeavor but a critical response to the changing landscape of tourism. It emphasized the need to develop sustainable strategies that can support the local economy throughout the year, mitigating the impact of reduced snowfall on winter tourism. The month-long training with Monterosa2000 was a significant turning point in my research journey. It instilled in me a deeper appreciation for the real-world implications of my work and reaffirmed the importance of sustainable tourism strategies in the face of climate change. The experience was a bridge between theory and practice, emphasizing the value of close collaboration with stakeholders in creating lasting positive impacts on the local community and its economy.
